Hi, I’m Kat
I’m a nurse, educator, positive psychology coach, and founder of KLT Consultancy.
I’ve spent nearly 20 years working in health and care, and a lot of that time has been supporting other people to grow, develop and lead well.
I’ve worked at organisational and national level, but just as much of this work happens in conversations that start with:
“I don’t really know what’s going on… but something isn't quite right.”
Why I do this work
I care about people doing well in healthcare.
Not just coping. Not just getting through.
Actually doing well., and staying well.
Because I’ve seen what happens when they’re not.
When confidence dips.
When people start second-guessing themselves.
When showing up starts to feel like putting on a version of yourself that isn’t quite you.
That’s more common than we like to admit.
And I don’t think it has to be that way.

My experience
Over the past decade, I’ve worked across organisations, systems and national programmes to strengthen nurse education and workforce development.
I’ve held leadership roles at organisational, regional and national level, including Chair of the UK Clinical Nurse Educator Network.
I’m a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education.
I’m also trained as a PASEDA360® Advanced Practice Positive Psychology Coach, bringing evidence-based approaches that support reflection, clarity and meaningful, lasting change.
This isn’t about surface-level positivity. It’s about helping people understand themselves more deeply, think differently, and create change that actually lasts, individually and across teams.
My work supports confidence, wellbeing and leadership development for individuals and teams across health and care.

What I believe
I don’t think people should have to show up at work pretending everything is fine.
I don’t think constant pressure, negativity, or “that’s just how it is” are things we should accept without question.
And I don’t think being professional means leaving who you are at the door.
I do think people work better when they feel like themselves.
I do think teams function better when people feel safe to think, speak and contribute.
And I do think change is possible, even in systems that feel hard to shift.
I created KLT Consultancy to give nurses, educators and healthcare professionals space to grow with confidence, clarity and self-trust. At the heart of my work are three simple ideas:
Be more you
Choose kindness
Keep life thriving
